couple of days into listening to the interviews and have heard about 5 now i think. had to listen to them in slices cause of
the energy coming from them! though very inspiring i felt overwhelmed with the pace, 'blimey i don't have these people's kind of energy' i was thinking all of the time. then i got really in sync and feeling it but today has been all about my levels of frustration going through the roof and feeling so full of resistance! So, far from fighting dragons i'm fighting myself right now. guess i must me doing something right? hopefully!
YES. I love your honesty and feel your frustration!
Take some of the pressure off of yourself and don't think you need to have it all figured out and implemented *right now*. Let's look at it like a 10 year plan which we're gonna work patiently, persistently, and diligently on. :o)
The truth will set you free, but first it'll piss you off!
Sometimes during our coaching calls people actually feel confused, foggy, and frustrated. And counterintuitively………. this is PERFECT!
Confusion leads to clarity. And breakdowns lead to breakthroughs.
Same thing happens when you detox your diet. Although you're being healthier, all the toxins are released into your blood and you actually feel pretty shitty for the first few days as your body naturally heals itself.
Too much "truth" can have the same effect – but it's worth it in the long run.
Big hugs!!!
Cheers Jacob! Yes, the pressure got to me. I approached it as a process i wanted to control, by trying to
figure it all out, making notes, writing down quotes, having a plan… While all the while the process ran away with me right from the inside out. If that makes any sense…
So i've got the interviews on hold for a bit. I know where they are and they're not going anywhere 😉
Gonna stick to a few basics and go on intuition rather than gathering (and gathering) more
information and getting to a point where i feel like i'm going to explode!
Yeah, think i kinda know what to do to make a good start.
Got some clutter going on, think i'll start tidying a bit 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend!
WTF was great Jacob, was able to stream a few of the interviews and then went ahead and purchased the whole enchilada yesterday! Great food for the soul while working the body at the gym – double duty, NICE! I loved how with some of the people being interviewed, you really pushed them for applicable steps and tips so it wasn't so theoretical. Bravo for your diligence on that!
Thanks for this video too, I just discovered Brene Brown this past week and fell in love with her!
Congrats on the tremendous success of WTF and you may just have coaching inquiry lucky number 13 soon 🙂
Hehehe. So thrilled u dug it man. And yeah, that was big for me – I wanted to make sure peeps could walk away with actions to take, not just poetry to recite. :o)
Looking fwd to our call in a few!
Wow Jacob! I absolutely enjoyed every minute of these insightful and amazing interviews. It was truly a privelege to be able to participate in the webinar conference and to glean such wisdom which was so beneficial to bringing knowledge and clarity for my purpose and living an authentic and meaningful life, which is my ideal life. I enjoyed listening to Alan Cohen's interview as well as Christine Hassler's "cure your expectation hangover." Now I am trying to apply what I learned from these interviews to live an authentic life and with purpose so I find how to be of service and make a meaningful contribution. It was an incredible success.
Awesome, Jen!
I loved Alan and Christine's interviews as well.
Both of those interviews had some great action steps – did you rock those?! :o)
Hey Jacob,
I did really enjoy the conference. I listened to quite a few talks so they are all mixed in my head now and I can't give you any specifics. All the ones I've listened to were really inspiring.
So is the video above. I'd love to travel as much as you do! And obviously I'd love to do the things I'm passionate about.
I find it really interesting that I am very passionate about those things but it's still difficult to get myself to work on them. Like the steps that lead up to doing what I want to do. Listening to the talks helped me a bit with that. Listening to really positive people talk improved my mood a lot and helped me want to work on my own life. So thanks!
4sho!
It's natural to come up against some resistance when thinking about making your real life turn into your ideal life. I face that kinda stuff too as my goals get bigger and better. :o)
Once of the best ways to deal w/ this is exactly what you said. Surround yourself w/ peeps who improve your mood. Or to take it even a step further, chill w/ peeps who inspired you, who you admire, and who you aspire to be like.
The reason this is so great is because your reality slowly starts to shift to match theirs. It's almost impossible to make any long-term change if you keep hanging out w/ the same peeps in the same type of environment.
Long term vision, baby! :o) Keep rocking.
Hello Jacob!
The conference was really awesome, great success putting all this together, thanks! I kept trying to convince my family to tune in all week until they finally got the chance to check it out and ended up buying the entire thing because they missed the first few interviews 😛 As for my favorite, Christine Hassler's talk was pure gold!
I too always get those "life's too good" moments and I mostly end up losing that battle, not anymore tho 😉
Best of luck with everything, keep inspiring!
Ahhhhhhhhhh. Love it. WTF, bringing families together! :o)
I've gotten so much great feedback about the chat w/ Christine. I went to her workshop here in NYC on Tuesday and she's even more incred in person!
Keep in touch!
Listening to those interviews was such a great investment. There was a crazy wealth of knowledge to be tapped into and I'm incredibly grateful that you put them together and made them accessible to really any kind of audience. A lot of people are going to be impacted, inspired, provoked. I love it!
I listened to nearly every interview, as much as was possible. And 15 pages of notes later (excessive or attentive… It's all the same) it's difficult to pinpoint 1 big takeaway when there were so many mind bending ideas. One idea I came away with is that the people who ask for help when it is needed are more likely to be successful. But we are programmed to believe that asking for a help is a sign of weakness or a lack of intelligence. So the fear of how we will be perceived prevents us for asking for any guidance. I am a teacher, and now whenever my students tell me they don't understand something, I think of that interview and I tell them that it takes bravery to ask for help or clarification and I give this asking the same praise as I would a great piece of work or job well done. (They are only 6, so it's hard to know how much it will really sink in). I try to model for them how to be okay saying we don't understand something, and where we can go to find the answers or support. Sometimes this can be easy as they have so many crazy questions that often I haven't got a clue about. A common thread through so many talks was what we lack in our formal education and so I consciously made a commitment to take as many moments as possible to step outside the curriculum and extend the literacy/history/geography lesson into a life lesson.
Thank you for spreading the awareness!
Finally had a chance to listen to the first 10 recordings. A-W-E-S-O-M-E ! and thank you…. My favorite by far was Brian and you revisiting the early days.
There have been soooooooo many big ideas but the sticky ones are " I am not my thoughts " and " I have the ability to choose what I think about". I also liked the segment on how asking for help makes us appear stronger in the eyes of others.
My primary concern is that I have since I've slowed down my emotional response to any given situation, I feel like I'm becoming emotionless. Have you heard of this before?
Bwahhhh ha ha… Just listened to Tal Ben's (recording #11) . " only psychopaths and dead people don't feel emotion. " Timing is incredibly coincidental? Alright.. I still have my sense of humor so I suppose I will be OK after all 🙂
Give yourself permission. LOVE. This is what I try and teach in all of my yoga classes, and you have explained it so beautifully here. I missed the live conference because I was yoga-ing and surfing in Costa Rica (:D), but I'm looking forward to listening over the next couple of weeks! Thank you for the reminder that it doesn't all have to happen right now, but also that the time to begin is always now! You are awesome.
Jacob WTF was fantastic. I am still reeling, I am so excited I just want to listen to them all again and research the sites each of them talked about and their tips. Aarrgghhh – baby steps!! Biggest Takeaways – slow your breathing to less than 6 breaths per minute – been trying that one out a lot this week. Rick Hanson is just awesome and The Energy Project – I want to work there! Michael Dowd – well that blew my mind. Chip Conley – Emotional Equations. Willpower 101. I could go on and on. The interviews were all inspiring and jam packed with nutritional soul food. I loved it am still loving it. I'm hanging out for the transcripts cause although I took two books of notes, I know I missed stuff!! Wonderful job Jacob. You Rock Man! Thank you.
My life seems like it’s WAY too perfect? I’m literally ALWAYS smiling and happy ALL THE TIME? It’s gets to the point where people call me Dorothy and Little Miss Perfect Life? Is my life too good?
Have a glittericious day everyone!!!!????❤️?
